Airport Transfers

Biss arranges transfers from Gatwick, Heathrow or Stansted airports (see prices list), plus other UK arrival points on request. Transfers are made by Biss approved, CRB checked private taxi drivers, or for groups by mini-bus or coach.

The students will be personally met by our named driver at the airport and escorted directly to the host family. On return the student is collected from the host family address and taken to the airport.

We also provide an UNACCOMPANIED MINOR (child under 16) airport chaperon service (£50 in total). Different airlines have different polices on unaccompanied minors (see www.airsafe.com). Normally, the airline will transfer your child to a named person (our driver) . Sometimes UK immigration control checks that the person is waiting in arrivals, before allowing the child entrance to the UK.

On return, an unaccompanied minor must be supervised by an adult chaperon, who not only checks the child in, but must also wait at the airport until after the flight has departed, this can take hours. Some airlines have their own staff who provide this service, but some budget airlines do not.

If your child is traveling as an unaccompanied minor, you should inform your airline, check their policy and inform us what they require. No matter what their policy, we strongly recommend you book our modestly priced chaperon service to insure against any unexpected eventuality at the airport.
